About Thyme Cafe opened its doors on July 27, 2013 after 6 months of renovation. Originally a Kentucky Fried Chicken built in 1960, the building still maintains the 4-column porch reminiscent of Colonel Sanders’ boyhood home in Kentucky.
The Evans High School culinary program opened in 2002, where the classroom is set-up as the dining room. The setting is more of a Tuscan style with chandeliers and wall sconces, high back leather cushion chairs and four cover dining room tables.

Chef Brandon Velie has been cooking for over 20 years. His early beginnings in the US Marine Corps as a cook taught him how to feed the masses. He has since trained in several aspects of the restaurant industry from short order to fine dining.
Liz Victor is a self-proclaimed foodie. She worked and learned the love of food at No. 10 Downing Street in Aiken. During her 8 years at the Aiken restaurant, she worked along side three chefs - each from another part of the country.
Sabrina was introduced into her culinary career at an early age. As a small child she remembers pulling up a bar stool to watch her mother and aunts prepare different food items for their weekly family gatherings at her grandmother’s house.
